A ribbon of smoke
In the cool crisp air, 
Hangs in the valley there.

The sounds of nature
Its silence deep, 
Trickles down the frosted creek.

A blanket was cast
Of new fallen snow, 
Footprints made each step we go.

We think we remember
The path that we take, 
Falling flakes cover the trail we make.

Then on our way home
The evening lights fade, 
Memories warm in the cool somber shades.

The warmth of a fire, 
At home in a while, 
Our winter walk ends in a smile

It is said that in a certain faraway land the cold is so intense that words freeze as soon as they are uttered, and after some time thaw and become audible, so that words spoken in winter go unheard until the next summer.

How silently they tumble down
And come to rest upon the ground
To lay a carpet, rich and rare,
Beneath the trees without a care,
Content to sleep, their work well done,
Colors gleaming in the sun.
 

At other times, they wildly fly
Until they nearly reach the sky.
Twisting, turning through the air
Till all the trees stand stark and bare.
Exhausted, drop to earth below
To wait, like children, for the snow.

Two dogs, one caravan and a beach! Ollie and Kaya

 We have just returned from our first camping trip of many this year with our 2 dogs. 
My Border Collie, Ollie and my Northern Inuit, Kaya.
I thought I would share a few photographs of them with you.

We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It’s the best deal man has ever made.










He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
