You came to us a bag of bones,
your body badly beaten,
When we gave you food,
it was like you had never eaten!
You grew in size, a gentle giant,
no better friend than you!
When I was sad you were by my side,
it's like you always knew!
When out on walks, you stayed so close,
you became a part of me..
The love you gave shone in your eyes,
it was there for all to see!
You loved to have your belly tickled
and would roll over on your back,
Companionship and loyalty,
you certainly didn't lack!
Your time with us was cut too short,
We had to let you go.
I just wish you'de stayed for longer,
My Jake I miss you so.
