Blue Monday 2

What is Blue Monday, why is it the most depressing day of the year and how can you beat the blues?
The date is generally reported as falling on the third Monday in January
We're all feeling down now the Christmas celebrations are over, with little to look forward to, a hammered bank account, a bulge around the waist, gloomy weather and a return to work after weeks of partying.
What can you do about Blue Monday?
Exercise, starting an activity you’ve wanted to do for ages and enjoying time with friends and family all help to banish the winter blues.
However, if you are struggling with feelings of depression over a long period you should speak to your doctor, or a trusted family member or friend.

When I'm feeling down

When I'm feeling down

I withdraw into myself.

So if you don't hear from me

or don't see as much of me as usual,

don't take it personally,

don't think I have

fallen out with you.

Alone in my own little world,

I don't need to make excuses,

I don't need to pretend.

It is my way of protecting myself.

I just want to feel needed

I just want to feel needed, loved.

I want to be someone's reason to smile.

I don't want gifts or even kind words.....

I just want someone to care.

To show an interest

To recognise when I am sad.

To be there, to listen...

To wrap their arms around me

And make me feel special.

Do you ever have days...

Do you ever have days
When you wake up and for no reason
You feel as though the weight of the world
Is on your shoulders?
A feeling of impending doom,
of hopelessness and a sadness that envelops you.
Like a dark cloud has descended upon you from nowhere...
There is nothing you can pin this on...it's Just a feeling...
A feeling that is so strong that fighting it is pointless.
Your body feels heavy too..
Every movement requires huge effort..
To concentrate on anything is impossible,
because your mind is distracted by
morbid irrational thoughts....
Life wasn't perfect yesterday, but yesterday it didn't matter...
Today EVERYTHING matters.
Where does this feeling come from?
And how do I shake it off?

Depression

A compassionate person would not say to somebody
in a wheel chair "Just stand up and walk yourself!"
You would not turn your back on them if
they needed assistance. If necessary, you would
provide help and make allowances for their disability.
Please show that compassion to those that suffer
from Depression too...Don't tell them to "Pull
themselves together!" Don't just walk away .
Show them love and support, listen to them, be there
for them, make some allowances. You don't need to
pretend that you know what they are going through,
just let them know that you care.
They may not be in a wheelchair....Depression is an
invisible illness, but that does not mean that is isn't
debilitating.

Don't despair

If you are feeling low, don't despair, the sun has a sinking spell every night.
But it comes back up every morning.

Feeling alone

Sometimes even Angels feel lonely. There is nothing worse than being surrounded by people and yet feeling all alone

Time passes by too quickly

Have patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself. Do not lose courage in considering your own imperfections but instantly set about remedying them -- every day begin the task anew

Depression

I wonder can you see the sadness behind my eyes? When you see my smile, do you know what I hide behind it? When you hear me laugh, do you know what I'm really thinking? When you hear me sing, do you really hear the meaning? When I touch you, can you feel my pain?

Good humor is a tonic for mind and body. It is the best antidote for anxiety and depression. It is a business asset. It attracts and keeps friends. It lightens human burdens. It is the direct route to serenity and contentment.
